Senior Advisor, HRIS (Hybrid Vancouver)

About the Role:

The Senior Advisor, HRIS, is a strategic partner and key driver of our HR technology initiatives, with primary responsibility for the optimization, configuration, and enhancement of our Workday platform. You will ensure system integrity, data accuracy, and operational efficiency, while enabling seamless business processes across HR, Payroll, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and IT. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic influence, providing guidance and solutions that enhance the employee experience and support a global workforce.

This is a hybrid role based in our Vancouver office, with in-office days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a senior functional and technical expert for Workday HCM modules, including Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Talent Management, and Performance.

  • Lead design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday business processes and system enhancements to meet business objectives and compliance requirements.

  • Manage bi-annual Workday releases, performing impact analysis, regression testing, and adoption of new features.

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of all HR data within Workday, maintaining best practices for data governance

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex reports (advanced, matrix,composite) and calculated fields to provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders.

  • Support audit and compliance requirements, delivering data and documentation for internal stakeholders.

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to identify system requirements, design solutions, and implement system improvements that drive efficiency and automation.

  • Develop and deliver training materials, user guides, and documentation for HR and end-users, promoting self-sufficiency and adoption of HRIS tools.

  • Provide high-level support and troubleshooting for complex Workday issues, including integrations, security, and business process configurations.

  • Configure and manage Workday security groups and roles, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Act as a thought partner for continuous HRIS improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience.

The Experience You Bring:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience configuring, implementing, and supporting Workday HCM or other HRIS systems.

  • Deep functional and technical expertise in at least three core Workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Security).

  • Demonstrated experience with Workday report writing, calculated fields, security administration, and business process configuration.

  • Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working with the Agile project management methodology is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive system adoption and process improvements.
