About The Role

As a Senior Consultant within our Management Consultancy team, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality client work across a range of projects. You will lead defined workstreams, offer clear guidance to colleagues, and use your analytical strengths to help clients make informed decisions. Your work will involve applying established methodologies, models and frameworks to provide well‑considered options and insight.

You will bring strong technical capability, working closely with project managers, capability leads and other specialists to ensure your work meets the required standards. The role also includes supporting internal initiatives, helping to enhance our services, and taking an active part in the ongoing development of our consultancy capability.

As you progress, you will begin to identify potential business opportunities, take on more independent tasks, and build effective working relationships both internally and externally. You will also support change activities within the organisation, helping others to understand and adopt new ways of working.

Administrative accuracy and consistent application of our ethics, governance and risk management frameworks are essential to this role.

Flexibility is important, as you may work from our offices, client sites or from home depending on project needs.

About You

You will have experience in a relevant field and at least two years of practical involvement in delivering client‑focused work. You are confident applying consultancy and technical skills and are working towards the required levels within the BMT Skills Management System. You bring a thoughtful, structured approach to problem‑solving and can show success in completing project tasks or initiatives.

Strong project‑management capability is essential. You should be comfortable leading defined work areas, planning your own workload and ensuring your workstream stays on track. You will also need to be able to apply business‑analysis skills when required, such as understanding user needs, clarifying requirements or supporting option‑based decision making. The blend of these two skill sets is central to succeeding in the role.

You are working towards, or already hold, a bachelor’s degree or Level 5 qualification (or can show equivalent experience) and are progressing towards membership of a relevant professional body. You will either hold, or be eligible to obtain, the necessary security clearance.

You enjoy guiding others and are confident engaging with clients, listening carefully to their needs and helping shape practical, well‑considered solutions.
