Job Description
Cyber Security Consultant - Technical Specialist
Are you looking to apply your cyber security skills and experience within a multi-disciplinary team to new and varied challenges; helping our customers solve complex problems and assisting them with their engineering projects by supporting the creation and realisation of new systems? If so, this role could be for you.
About the role
As part of the growth of our existing successful team, we have new and exciting opportunities available for Cyber Security Consultants with expertise in Industrial Control Systems/Operational Technology.
Roles are available for people with different levels of skill, competency, and previous experience. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate SFIA 8 professional skills at levels 4 or 5 for both Consultancy and Information Security.
Please note, this role will be subject to security checks, and you will need to obtain a UK SC Clearance and be a sole UK National since birth to be confirmed in the post.
In terms of location, we have offices in Bath, London, Teddington, Plymouth, Fareham and Weymouth and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings may be required. This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.
About you
In addition to the required SFIA skills, we are looking for Cyber Security Consultants who:
- have expertise in industrial control systems/operational technology;
- can decompose complex system of system designs into component parts;
- are experienced in developing technical security architectures;
- can map business and high-level requirements to technical requirements, deliverable solutions and programmes of work;
- can engage with customers, stakeholders and suppliers to implement timely solutions.
And ideally:
- are aware of Agile methodologies and techniques;
- can provide security-related design advice to projects, contributing to the ‘secure by design’ approach for Government projects;
- can identify cyber and information security risks and propose appropriate activities and controls to mitigate them.
- are aware of the security controls required for cloud-based solutions;
- have a foundation knowledge in computer science or system of systems engineering;
- have an awareness of the latest developments in the cyber security field and state of the art cyber security solutions;
- have an interest in cyber related R&D.
As much of our work is directly customer focused, your ability to present and articulate technically complex work clearly to stakeholders with differing levels of technical knowledge is important.
Knowledge of both NCSC and internationally recognised cyber standards/frameworks would be an advantage.
We value professional qualifications and professional registration with appropriate institutions, and we can provide support, a generous training allowance and tailored experience in order for you to achieve these, if not already held.
