Role Description
The Windows Team Lead is responsible for leading and managing the Windows Engineering team supporting the JORN program. This role oversees the maintenance, support, and delivery of engineering changes across Windows server environments, endpoint management platforms, and enterprise services while ensuring operational performance, quality outcomes, and compliance with engineering processes.
Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, and key stakeholders, the Windows Team Lead drives technical delivery, develops team capability, and contributes to strategic ICT initiatives.
Core Duties:
- Lead the delivery of Windows infrastructure and engineering activities in line with project schedules and priorities.
- Manage team workloads, sprint activities, and progress reporting to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.
- Oversee the administration, performance monitoring, and maintenance of Windows Server environments and enterprise services.
- Ensure effective endpoint management, software deployment, patching, and configuration management through SCCM/MECM and related tools.
- Support fault resolution, system improvements, and operational support activities in accordance with best practice.
- Ensure all engineering changes comply with JORN governance, engineering processes, and quality requirements.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and operational management of the Windows Engineering team.
- Manage performance reviews, development plans, resource allocation, and workload priorities.
- Develop team capability through mentoring, training, and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Support the ICT Manager in strategic planning and capability development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of technical standards and best practices.
About YOU
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing Windows engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise Microsoft technologies.
- Proven experience in Endpoint Management, including software deployment, patch management, device lifecycle management, and compliance.
- Strong experience administering and supporting SCCM/MECM environments.
- Experience managing technical delivery, prioritising workloads, and coordinating project activities within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within structured projects, engineering, or regulated environments.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive operational efficiencies and team performance.
- Experience supporting Defence or mission-critical ICT environments.
