Job Description
Job title: Welder
Location: Sheffield – onsite
Salary: £41,308.00 (Opportunity for overtime available & additional shift allowance of 20% may be applicable)
Requirements: Time-served Modern Apprenticeship (trade papers required) and ability to attend a trade test locally
What you’ll be doing:
- Execute Precision Titanium Welding Tasks: Perform a variety of titanium welding operations across multiple product types, showcasing your expertise in delivering high-quality work to meet diverse project requirements
- Contribute to Full Build Lifecycle: Operate within your scope of approvals, ensuring tasks are completed in alignment with the full lifecycle of the build programme, from start to finish
- Maintain Quality and Standards: Conduct thorough self-inspections to verify your work consistently meets the stringent quality and safety standards required for each project
- Ensure Equipment Reliability: Take ownership of tools, consumables, and equipment by performing daily safety checks and confirmations, ensuring all resources are fit for purpose and compliant with operational standards
- Champion Safety and Improvement: Actively participate in addressing Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) concerns within the assembly area by reporting hazards, near misses, or incidents promptly and contributing to corrective action plans to enhance workplace safety
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Possesses certified engineering qualifications, including a formally certified full Engineering Modern Apprenticeship, Modern Apprentice trade papers, and COSHH awareness, along with relevant work experience and proficiency in a range of technical processes acquired through job-related training
- Highly skilled at welding exotic material (Titanium, Stainless Steel) with an understanding of cleanliness issues surrounding these types of material
- Proficient at passing independent weld tests under supervision, including plate butt, pipe butt, tang and slot & tee butt, in 1G & 3G positions
- Understand and follow welding procedure specifications (WPS) and be able to follow manufacturing Instruction, to listen and follow verbal instructions
- Proficient at purging systems
- Able to use pneumatic tooling, Grinders, Drills etc. in accordance with HAVS regulations
- Applicants must demonstrate flexibility to work shifts in line with operational needs
