Job title: Advanced Apprentice Fabricator

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Starting from £18,667 with annual progression through the scheme duration.

What you’ll be doing:

• Fabrication and Installation Training Learn to fabricate and install sub-assemblies and major assemblies using tools for marking out, thermal cutting, and welding.
• Structural Assembly and Equipment Operation Build components like shell plates, decks, and bulkheads, and operate overhead cranes, chain blocks, and hydraulic pumps to erect major units.
• Technical Drawing Interpretation Develop skills in reading steelwork drawings, engineering symbols, and conventions to guide precise fabrication and outfitting tasks.
• Health and Safety Expertise Gain extensive safety training in working at height, confined spaces, PPE usage, and dynamic risk assessment, progressing toward the Gold Passport standard.
• Core Fabrication Skills Development Master platework assembly, abrasive wheel handling, shipbuilding terminology, and welding techniques including MMA, Oxy-fuel, and Plasma cutting, earning a tack welding qualification.

• National Certificate in Welding & Fabrication
• (Optional Higher National Certificate in Fabrication, Welding & Inspection)
• Level 7 Engineering Diploma Pathway B: Engineering Manufacturing and Fabrication
