About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a new opportunity for a Training Designer – Maritime to join our Maritime Australia business on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) based at either Melbourne CBD or Osborne, Adelaide location.

You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, reporting to the Training Lead, and will be employed on a permanent full-time basis.

More specifically, you will:

  • Perform technical training analysis, design, development and implementation activities
  • Develop technical training curriculum and implement technology-based training solutions
  • Undertake training gap analysis to identify and assess program training requirements and technical training procedures
  • Review maritime equipment/systems manuals and assess personnel and training requirements
  • Provide maritime technical training specialisation skills and advice to support the program
  • Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture
  • Conduct training design user testing and validate training designs and resources
  • Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve training design practices

About YOU

  • Extensive Defence Maritime technical trade/production experience
  • Relevant technical trade qualification
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and develop effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Good computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivation, a willingness to learn and a strong understanding of safe work practices
  • Whilst not essential, technical training designer/developer experience, or marine technician operation and maintenance experience in electrical (integrated platform management systems), or propulsion domains will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support/Integrated Product Support programs would be highly regarded.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
