Job title: Technology Architect

Location: Warton/Samlesbury (additional flexibility across UK) – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £72,000+ (dependent on skills and experience) – including executive benefits package, including PMI, car allowance and bonus

What you’ll be doing:

  • Technical authority for the design, development and continued evolution of IM&T baseline technology solutions used within BAES by the FCAS programme in accordance with the Air IM&T architectural framework
  • Governance of solutions to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and programme requirements including safety, environment and cyber security
  • Driving the technical co-ordination and coherence of IM&T capabilities across the wider FCAS enterprise (including UK MoD, national and international partners)
  • Leadership support to the FCAS Architecture Management Office, including staff responsibility for programme architects and analysts
  • Acting as an IT and Digital advocate and consultant within the FCAS programme

Your skills and experiences:

  • An experienced technology leader with the ability to demonstrate awareness of modern IM&T techniques associated with digital and experience dealing with complex IT systems
  • Proven experience of providing strategic and technical leadership to complex and multi-matrix organisations
  • Experience of product lifecycle management (PLM) across either design and development, delivery and integration or post-implementation
  • Exposure to Defence or Aerospace would be highly valuable
  • Strong architectural skills and experience of running Architectural development
  • Knowledge of cloud strategies and agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of complex engineering

Air Sector Digital Architecture team:

As Technology Architect, you will be influential in the design of the next generation fighter aircraft for the UK MoD by leading the development of Information Management & Technology (IM&T) systems. Working for the overall Programme Head of Digital Systems Design, you will be responsible for leading, shaping and governing the continued evolution of IM&T capabilities across engineering, manufacturing and sustainment and hold specific delegated technical authority for the digital technology components of the solution

You will be an exceptional Technologist with the ability to drive digital transformation and embrace an agile approach that will deliver advanced technologies within imposed timescales. You will be a true partner with the ability to grow a team from infancy, drive collaboration and connect directly with customers and suppliers (both internal and external to the business)

This is a unique opportunity that will provide you with the ability to lead, grow and develop within the IM&T team from infancy and own the technology component layer of one of the most high-profiled and prominent defence programmes seen this decade. You will combine your expertise with the UKs most prestigious leaders and international partners to design, evaluate and shape the final design and capability requirements of Tempest
