Role Description:

We have an exciting opportunity as a Support System Integration Manager within Hunter Class LOB. You will help drive and deliver the Support System Program in the identification, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art integrated system methodologies, processes and procedures, ensuring that it reflects, addresses and mitigates program safety solutions and design for support concepts. You will work closely with stakeholders and peers establishing effective solutions and have a key role in leading, mentoring and evolution of the Support System personnel and program .

Core Duties:

  • Establishment, management and execution of an instore-and in-build Planned Maintenance program that will schedule, conduct and report all maintenance of products up to VAD. Includes provision of data that is loaded into Commonwealth Systems.
  • Ensure that the Support System implications off evolving design changes including their impact on the product life cycle logistics implications are understood prior to presentation to Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and post CCB approval.
  • Establish, monitor and execute all required Engineering Change at a product level into developing Support System product baseline.
  • Ensure that the Support System reflects, addresses and mitigates the program Safety solutions. Includes direct liaison with the Safety Program to ensure that effective solutions and developing Safety Products address both platform and onshore facilities.
  • Establish and maintain a digital program that will automate the Support System program, enable ease of transition of data to the Commonwealth tool set and introduce cost effective efficiencies for the Hunter Class Frigate Program.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders and peers within the project to understand their requirements and how the team can collaborate to provide a cohesive solution and eliminate duplicity.
  • Work closely with the customer to develop and maintain an open and trusted relationship, able to support the customer in their understanding of the developed and delivered products and how the products were derived.
  • Establish effective consultation and communication mechanisms to ensure that key stakeholders are fully engaged and aware of Support System strategy, plans, products and service offerings.
  • Establish and work closely with the developing Combat Systems infostructure to ensure that Support System requirements are known and implemented with the relevant stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Actively demonstrate leadership related to SHE.
  • Lead the management and identification of Risks and Opportunities for the work being performed
  • Be able to travel both domestically and internationally to support both the Project and Support System strategic outcomes.

KEY CRITERIA:

  • Extensive engineering management and leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • A master’s degree level engineering qualification in an appropriate discipline with a Chartered Professional Engineer status is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in development and execution of strategic capability plans relating to product and/or engineering development
  • Strong leadership experience working with multi-discipline leadership teams to deliver outcomes in accordance with the agreed plan
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
