Role Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Logistics Engineer: ILS/IPS to join our Maritime business and make a valuable contribution on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP). Reporting to the Logistic Engineering Manager : ILS/IPS, you will demonstrate your technical expertise within the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) group and will be employed on a permanent full time basis.

Core Duties:

  • Oversee and support the delivery of logistics support analysis of products, data and trends on equipment/systems, providing recommendations on the effective operation and sustainment of the equipment/systems
  • Provide leadership to a logistic engineering – ILS/IPS team, coach and develop personnel, fostering a high performance culture
  • Oversee, provide direction and support in the development of Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Review supply documentation, provide sound logistic engineering advice, collaborate effectively with customers, internal and external stakeholders
  • Draw conclusions and propose recommendations to improve equipment/ system reliability and supportability based on logistics support analysis and available evidence
  • Collaborate with the wider ILS/logistic engineering team, drive culture of ILS/logistic engineering best practice, efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Manage and conduct risk assessments on the equipment/system being investigated, and review the design and development of logistic engineering solutions

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive ILS/IPS, or Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) or logistic engineering experience
  • A technical qualification with a technical aptitude, critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders, maintaining a positive team culture
  • Whilst not essential, naval ship/Defence industry experience or mechanical/mechatronics domain technical experience, will be highly regarded
  • Whilst not essential, previous people leadership experience and experience coaching and developing personnel, will be highly regarded
