About the OPPORTUNITY
The Support Engineering Team Lead drives the Support Engineering function within JORN Sustainment, delivering integrated logistics support, reliability engineering, supportability analysis, technical investigations, and optimisation activities that improve availability, reduce sustainment costs, and strengthen governance.
The role synthesises engineering, maintenance, and configuration data to generate insights that shape planning, maintenance strategy, asset management, and capability decisions, while acting as the central coordination point between Engineering Services, Planning, Asset Management, Operations, Supply Support, Training, and the Customer (CoA) on all sustainment‑related support engineering matters.
This role can be done from Adelaide, SA or Melbourne, VIC.
Key responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership and Strategy Development with regards to Support Engineering including LSA, RAM, LORA and Obsolescence Management
- Supportability & Logistics Support Analysis ensuring integrity and traceability of data
- Lead failure trend analysis using FRACAS, maintenance data, and condition monitoring inputs
- Technical Investigations & Impact Assessments for Modifications, transitions, acquisitions an obsolescence risks
- Oversee governance, compliance and risk management within the set frameworks
- Foster the culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve sustainment efficiency and reduce cost
About YOU
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related discipline)
- Demonstrated experience in sustainment engineering, ILS, or reliability engineering
- Experience working within a defence or regulated sustainment environment.
- Strong understanding of RAM, LSA, FMECA, RCA, RCM
- Experience with maintenance management systems and Configuration Management tools
- Stakeholder engagement and cross functional collaboration
- Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance
