Job Title: Supply Chain Lead – Supplier Export Control & Reporting

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £34,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintaining the supplier export declaration portal and assure process compliance and adherence
  • Being the focal point for internal buyers and external suppliers for implementation and registration onto the supplier declaration portal, managing area specific queries relating to the Product Classification Exchange (PCE)
  • Championing supplier export control across the Supply Chain function and train buyers and suppliers on using the appropriate processes and tools
  • Collaboration with other Business Units and functional areas on matters relating to supplier export control
  • Utilising connections internally and externally to identify opportunities for improvement and works collaboratively to ensure these are recognised
  • Supporting the Governance manager on reporting and analytics within the team

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience working within a supply chain environment with demonstrated proficiency in sourcing, process knowledge, contracting skills, and supplier management
  • Possess a good standard of business acumen, coupled with awareness of the end-to-end Life Cycle Management (LCM) process and its application from both a capability and supply chain perspective
  • Hold or be working towards CIPS Level 4 certification (or an equivalent qualification)
  • Ability to demonstrate effective stakeholder management and project management abilities

The BAE Systems Defence Solutions Functional Excellence team:

The Functional Excellence team enables the Defence Solutions supply chain 300+ employees to do their jobs. Encompassing Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, People Capability, Tools/IT & Sustainability. Having an overarching perspective across the business and representing the business unit in sector and group environments to encourage sharing best practise and continuous improvement.

This role will provide supplier export compliance support as part of a team delivering governance and compliance to the function. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge across the supply chain function and will engage with varying levels of stakeholders across the enterprise as part of the position, with the potential to lead into more senior positions within a global business.
