Salary: Up to £54,500 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

You will play a key role in developing and delivering agile software solutions that support Hybrid Navy capabilities. Working within a collaborative software team, you will design, build and enhance high-quality, reliable software aligned to the product vision, contributing to the successful delivery of features while supporting continuous improvement and ensuring solutions meet the assurance and certification standards required for operational use.

Core duties:

• Contributing to the design and development of software components within a defined architecture.
• Utilising an Agile/DevSecOps approach for the creation of new and modified code/test modules as part of a wider product solution.
• Participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.

Essential skills:

• Proven software development experience within a structured engineering environment, knowledge of Rust is an advantage
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and modern software development practices.
• Ability to integrate third-party technologies and develop high-quality, well-structured, self-documenting code and tests
• Understanding of DevSecOps principles, with a proactive approach to learning new technologies and applying them to deliver effective software solutions
• Experienced in embedding DevSecOps principles throughout the software development lifecycle, producing high-quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage and long-term maintainability.

The Team:

You’ll join a large and collaborative team of Software Developers, working together to deliver multiple software projects for both existing and new customers. The team operates in a fast-paced environment, supporting the development of innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of programmes.

The software developed by the team is highly visible, mission-critical, and designed for deployment within complex Naval Ship environments. This provides the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology that plays a key role in supporting operational capability and the successful delivery of customer requirements.
