Role Description:

The FTEWA (Force Threat Evaluation & Weapon Assignment) Software Factory Engineer is responsible for supporting the development and ongoing improvements to the Software Factory that is used to develop FTEWA software product. The Software Factory provides a suite of tools to support software development within the Combat Systems Product Realisation Group. As a Senior Software Factory Engineer, you will develop solutions and implement capability to meet the Product Owner‘s vision

Core duties:

  • Contributing to the design and development of software factory components within a defined architecture
  • Utilise an Agile/DevSecOps approach for the creation of new and modified code/test modules as part of a wider product solution
  • Participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver software factory solution

Essential Skills:

  • Academic qualification in a STEM related subject, and ability/willingness to become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through an appropriate recognised professional institution
  • Knowledge and experience of CI/CD pipelines, build, test and release
  • Able to understand technical guidance within a DevSecOps approach to software development and translate this into useful and reusable design and code artefacts
