Salary: Circa £51,000 depending on experience

Job Description:

The SharePoint Engineer plays a key role in delivering, supporting and continuously improving the Enterprise SharePoint service across BAE Systems UK and RoW. Working closely with technical leadership, business stakeholders and internal customers. The successful candidate will utilise both agile and traditional delivery approaches, manage issues and continuous improvement activities, and contribute to the development of best practices, processes and service quality standards to ensure an effective and reliable SharePoint environment.

Core duties:

  • Deliver and support Enterprise SharePoint services across BAE Systems UK and RoW
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver SharePoint enhancements and solutions
  • Ensure all SharePoint developments and deployments align with internal governance and standards
  • Apply appropriate delivery methodologies, including Agile and traditional project approaches
  • Resolve technical issues, manage corrective actions, and drive continuous service improvement
  • Gather and utilise stakeholder feedback to measure effectiveness and enhance service delivery
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, processes, and quality standards for SharePoint services

Essential Skills:

  • Best practice application management in line with ITIL Processes
  • Extensive experience of working with the multiple versions of SharePoint and 3rd party tools such as but not limited to Nintex, K2, Sharegate, Link fixer
  • An understanding of application development and promotion into multiple environments
  • A good level of experience in supporting the delivery of projects and large change requests

The SharePoint Team:

The team consist of 30 people, who are responsible for the Delivery of SharePoint 2016 / 2019 and SharePoint Online to all BAE Systems UK, KSA and international Business, we manage the Service with our Service Providers, and manage service and support from 3rd party suppliers such as Microsoft, Boost, KwizCom and Quest.

The team manage the relationship with the 10 UK Business who use our 5 Enterprise SharePoint environments. We are responsible for deploying the strategic roadmap for SharePoint including major upgrades, Business Change Requests, configuration changes as well as supporting end users in site creation and management.
