Job description

Location: Novena, Singapore

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is home to 4,500 digital, cyber and intelligence experts. We work collaboratively across 10 countries to collect, connect and understand complex data, so that governments, nation states, armed forces and commercial businesses can unlock digital advantage in the most demanding environments.

About The Team:

A successful candidate for this role will work in Digital Intelligence’s Singapore Hub, with a focus on delivering and support complex systems to our customers.

A Senior System Consultant is an experienced and versatile systems engineer with strong IT fundamentals and broad hands-on experience in deploying, integrating and supporting complex infrastructure and application technologies. They operate in mission-critical, high-security environments, working with large datasets and solving challenging engineering problems at scale.

At a senior level, they are expected to work independently on complex and unfamiliar problems, taking end-to-end ownership through to resolution. They should understand wider system impacts, identify root causes and technical risks, and have the technical judgement to challenge existing approaches constructively and make practical recommendations.

They should be capable of managing multiple priorities, leading complex technical investigations and working effectively across engineering teams within demanding project schedules. Strong customer engagement is essential, including the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly, build trust and provide sound technical advice. Strong engineering discipline in testing, change management and documentation is also expected.

Beyond their individual responsibilities, Senior System Consultants should develop deep knowledge of BAE products and third-party technologies, share their expertise, mentor other engineers and help strengthen the overall technical capability of the local engineering team. BAE is committed to investing in unique talent and supporting their continued growth within the company.

Successful candidates will be offered a 3 years contract with opportunity to convert to permanent.

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. Core Responsibilities:

  1. System Implementation & Support
    • Deploy, configure, and support infrastructure and application technologies used in our solutions.
    • Troubleshoot deployment issues (under project) or incidents (under service delivery), and work with software engineers to remediate problems in production.
    • Work independently and effectively in a high-security environment, while adhering to customer site and system security protocols.
    • Effectively Identify root causes of system issues by methodically analyzing and testing in a controlled test environment.
    • Proactive handling of incident and service request, including clear and timely ticket updates.
    • Support out of hours work when necessary.
    • Together with the wider local engineering team, share a standby and on-call rota.

    • Ensure that deployed solutions or system changes meet the defined project requirements and/or support objectives.
  2. Engineering Processes & Collaboration
    • Continuously seek new and better implementation approaches, challenging existing methods professionally and constructively.
    • Grow local capabilities by sharing knowledge and experience through documentations or in-person demonstrations.
    • Produce high-quality technical documentation for both customer and internal purposes, including Statement of Work, Incident Reports and User Guides.
    • Work closely with global engineering teams to enhance system performance in both projects and service delivery where required.
