Job title: Senior Safety Engineer

Location: Warton

Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working mainly on Typhoon but with opportunities to work across all projects
  • Undertaking independent safety assessments to support the delivery of the Integrated Support & Training Solutions for our UK and Export Customers
  • Reviewing Processes and contribute into improvements on how we operate to ensure efficiencies and meeting out delivery SLA’s
  • Working with the Product technical authority to provide levels of assurance against the proposed support changes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Either a background within Safety and an understanding of the regulations OR a background within through life engineering within a desire to move into Safety Assurance.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • A basic awareness of Safety Standards is desirable ( UK Regulatory Framework, Def-Stan 00-55 / 00-56, Mil-Std-882, DO-178, DO-254, ARP 4754, ARP 4761, EN 61508 etc)

The Support Safety Team :

Joining the Support Safety team will offer you a dynamic and integral role within the organization’s safety framework. Collaborating closely with the Project Chief Engineer’s Office and Head of Independent System Monitoring (ISM), you will operate independently of project teams, ensuring a thorough and unbiased approach to safety assurance. Your responsibilities will span Independent Safety Assurance (ISA) and ensuring compliance with Design Organisation Regulations, reflecting our commitment to upholding the highest safety standards across all aspects of the business. Conducting audits across various departments, your scope will be extensive, requiring a diverse range of knowledge across all support activities. Through our through-life management approach, you will be dedicated to understanding the nuanced impact of support functions on overall aircraft safety. Moreover, your role will prioritize continuous training and professional development, offering ample opportunities for growth and skill enhancement, reaffirming our dedication to maintaining the utmost safety standards in every facet of our operations.
