Role Description

We are looking for a SeniorBusiness Analyst to join our dynamic and growing Business Analysis Practice. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of business and technology, helping shape the future of our organisation through impactful analysis and insight. You will be responsible for eliciting, analysing, and documenting business needs, and translating them into actionable outcomes across a portfolio of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid projects.

You will work closely withBusiness Stakeholders, Product Owners, Project Managers, Enterprise and Solution Architects, and other key partners to ensure that requirements are well understood, prioritised, and aligned to business value.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Core Duties:

  • Engage with stakeholders to identify business needs and gather detailed requirements through workshops, interviews, and research.
  • Develop accurate artefacts including business cases, user stories, process maps, and functional/non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and architects to ensure solutions align with business objectives and are feasible to implement.
  • Operate within different delivery models (Agile and Waterfall), contributing to project planning, sprint ceremonies, and UAT processes.
  • Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders across regions, bridging gaps between strategy, operations, and delivery.
  • Assist in business readiness, training needs analysis, and continuous improvement

About YOU

  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in complex or cross-functional project environments.
  • Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with flexibility to operate in Hybrid settings.
  • Experience working with Visio and MS products.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to adapt for different audiences.
  • Experience working on complex projects in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or technology-driven environmentsis desirable.
  • Strategic thinking and detail oriented, capable of translating ambiguous or complex stakeholder requests into strategic outcomes
  • Comfortable working across multi-country or multi-organisation collaborations.
  • Ability to work some UK hours (early evenings)
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV 1 Clearance
  • Punctual, proactive, and consistently well prepared for meetings, with the ability to lead defined workstreams independently. Team player with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
