Business Analyst

About us

We are seeking talented people to help our customers scope, design and roll out capabilities and grow our existing team. This role will be focused on supporting our customers mission, protecting themselves and others from security risks and implementing new capabilities across a variety of ICT and operational technology (OT) systems. You have BA experience and appreciate what it means to work in a flexible Consulting team, where the tasks from day to day vary according to the differing shape and status of projects and customer needs. You are passionate about enabling customers to achieve their goals and working with your team to get things done.

About the role

You will be responsible for:

  • Identification and documentation of stakeholders and their needs and drivers
  • Facilitating scoping and business priority setting for small, medium or large capability changes, engaging stakeholders as required
  • Eliciting and authoring scoping document business requirements, system requirements and business processes.
  • Capture and evaluation of both ‘pain points’ and ideas for improvement, prioritising possible improvements and obtaining buy-in for an improvement plan
  • Taking an active role in stakeholder workshops
  • Supporting business development teams as needed, contributing to consulting elements of client responses
  • Authoring relevant business change-related materials to support rollout of new capabilities
  • Research into potential tools clients may need to satisfy requirement
  • Working with engineering teams to ensure they get the information they need from business stakeholders
  • Highlighting potential opportunities for business growth
  • Contributing to the development of others and the internal Consulting practice
  • Maintaining an awareness of the various BAE Systems capabilities

Functional requirements

  • Must hold a PV clearance
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for project work

Key skills and experience

  • Previous Business Analysis experience including:
    • Authoring of different levels of requirements
    • Engaging with stakeholders of different types, seniority etc
    • Running meetings/workshops to elicit information, demonstrate systems etc
    • Defining as-is and to-be processes
    • Creation of various artefacts to communicate concepts that are well structured, appropriate for the audience and tell the story in a concise and logical way
    • Working with engineering teams as part of coherent project delivery
  • Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences when engaging with colleagues or users/customers
  • Has attention to detail, is proactive and organised
  • Is flexible, willing to get involved in a variety of tasks with different people across different projects or internal tasks
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management and engagement experience
  • Takes responsibility for delivering outputs, including work packages and small projects
  • Shares knowledge and expertise with others
  • Is able to respond to setbacks in an agile and resilient manner
  • Maintains an awareness of developing practices and their application and takes responsibility for driving own development
