Role Description:

We currently have a newly created opportunity for a Security Manager.Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the Management and delivery of the JORN Arctic and JORN projects, in addition to this you will oversee the Team/s supporting the JORN and Arctic projecting a national, fit for purpose approach.

Core Duties:

  • Maintain currency of knowledge, communication and consultation in relation to security Management.
  • Monitor and review security management – reporting critical developments, risks and emerging issues involving a complex array of technology, legislation, standards, policy, people and processes.
  • Deliver and participate in an assurance program for security management nationally within areas of accountability and responsibility for Team Security Projects and Programs and Protective Security as required.
  • Oversee and influence a national approach to Security Management in accordance with Australian and International legislation, Australian and foreign Government policies, Australian and International Standards, and Global Policies.
  • Manage Internal BAE Systems projects that require security SME support/guidance and oversight.

About You

  • Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security Negative Vetting 2 clearance (Essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences, is critical to this role.
  • A broad based computer literacy – intermediate MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and managing complex security management policies and practices.
  • Tertiary qualifications in security management or Significant experience in complex security management environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security management techniques.
  • Experience chairing national working groups.
  • Strong Leadership experience is essential.

The Team

The Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) is a connected series of three remote over-the-horizon radars (OTHR) located in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. The state-of-the-art defence system provides wide-area surveillance at ranges of 1,000 to 3,000 kilometres and plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) air and maritime operations, border protection, disaster relief and rescue operations
