About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a new and exciting leadership opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our SSN-AUKUS business based at Adelaide CBD, SA.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as 9 days fortnight working arrangement
Reporting to the Head of Quality you will be responsible to develop and maintain BAE Systems Australia Submarine’s “Integrated Business Management System” process asset library including Integrated certification, configuration audits, internal Audits in line with the annual integrated audit schedule and process development. These will be completed in accordance with BAE Systems quality and assurance process.
This also includes the implementing the lessons learnt from SSN AUKUS UK program design and construction, as well as those from Surface ships which are applicable to the BAE Systems whilst ensuring that improvements are formally reported and effectively implemented, resulting in the establishment and sustainment of robust controls and operational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the Quality Management System certification and all customer external auditing activities
- Plan and conduct internal Quality audits to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement
- Develop and deliver Quality training and professional development programs across the organization
- Provide support to the Design and Technical Assurance program, including Software Assurance activities
- Oversee operations assurance in collaboration with Quality Control and Dimensional Control functions.
- Support the mandated lifecycle management reviews, monitor and report on Quality performance metrics, and conduct Product Acceptance Audits
- Contribute to the development and effectiveness of the “business management system” process asset library
About YOU
- Proven experience in quality or technical management, with strong people leadership skills
- Knowledge of related ISO standards ISO9001, 14001, 45001, 55001 and associated Defence Sector Regulatory Frameworks
- Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- Inclusive, collaborative leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement, innovative and out of box thinking is highly desired
- Certification in a quality-related field is essential and Tertiary qualification or defence industry experience will be highly regarded
