Job Description:

In this role, you will be conducting and managing product and process design, development, test and evaluation activities on Small Arms Ammunition (SAA) products. This will include current in service & future development products, playing a key role in manufacturing processes.

Core duties:

• You will organise and handle trials in a safe and suitable manner, from the trials planning stage to completion of the trial and presentation of the data
• You will prepare technical documentation, including reports, procurement specifications and requirement specifications
• You will carry out and support technical investigations, along with developing and using safe systems of work for engineering tasks
• You will work with both internal and external suppliers and customers to ensure that technical and quality requirements for manufactured items are achieved on time and on schedule
• You will develop inspection and quality controls for components and assembled products, while contributing to technical, design, and project reviews, as well as the risk management process

Essential Skills:

• You will hold a Bachelor’s Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification and/or HNC/HND supported by complementary experience in Mechanical Engineering
• You will be experienced in the development and industrialisation of products and processes with the ability to interpret technical drawings
• You will have a good understanding of manufacturing techniques and assembly processes
• You will have experience with trials, tests, and evaluation of products or processes

The Product Development Team:

Joining a dynamic engineering team designing and manufacturing next-generation ammunition for UK and export markets. As a Product Development Engineer in Small Arms Ammunition, you’ll be involved in all product lifecycle stages, from concept to production.
