Job Description:

You’ll be joining a dynamic on-base environment, working closely alongside the QEAF customer and serving as the procurement lead for all Dukhan procurement activities and deliverables. Based primarily on site, you’ll ensure procurement requirements are delivered efficiently and compliantly, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and customers. You’ll provide clear visibility of procurement activity, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks and opportunities, and ensuring the successful delivery of operational and business objectives.

Core duties:

  • Acting as the primary Procurement focal point for all on-base procurement activities, managing supplier performance, monitoring delivery against requirements, and driving continuous improvement across cost, quality and service.
  • Implementing a tailored Dukhan Procurement Plan while ensuring full compliance with BAE Systems Procurement governance, policies and processes.
  • Building and maintaining good, trusted relationships with suppliers to support current operational needs and identify opportunities to meet future programme requirements across Qatar.
  • Collaborating closely with requirement owners and key stakeholders to understand end-user needs, engage the most suitable suppliers, and ensure requirements are accurately communicated and delivered.
  • Preparing, managing and securing approval for key procurement documentation, including DFMs, Purchase Orders, Payment Plans, Certificates of Acceptance (CoAs) and invoice transactions, enabling efficient and compliant contract execution with Qatari suppliers.
  • Providing procurement expertise and stakeholder support throughout the sourcing and contract management lifecycle, ensuring value for money, compliance and continuity of supply across the programme.

Essential Skills:

  • MCIPS Level 5 qualified, or actively working towards completion, with a good understanding of procurement best practices and governance
  • Experience in a Procurement Engineer, Procurement Specialist, Buyer or similar procurement-focused role, managing end-to-end sourcing and supplier relationships
  • Proven experience operating in a highly regulated environment (e.g. Defence, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Energy or similar)
  • Working knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations and compliance requirements, including Export Control, labour regulations and commercial governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to engage, negotiate and build relationships with suppliers and vendors across multiple countries and cultures, ensuring effective collaboration and successful contract delivery

The Qatar Procurement team

With a strong Middle East focus, the team works closely with local Qatari suppliers, customers and stakeholders to ensure procurement solutions are aligned to operational and business needs.

The role offers exposure to a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, from on-base operational teams through to senior business leaders. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you’ll be encouraged to take ownership, build strong relationships and contribute across a broad range of procurement activities, giving you visibility and influence across the wider programme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to see the direct impact of their work.
