Job title: Principal Procurement Officer

Location: Barrow in Furness

Salary: £45,383+ Dependent of skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Responsible for undertaking a range of procurement activities for range of low complexity, high volume suppliers
• Raising formal documents to support the sourcing and contracting process, including Request for Information, Request for Quotation, Assessment documents, Purchase Orders
• Effectively managing order book, to ensure timely deliveries and accurate cash forecasting
• Sourcing, negotiating and contracting activities
• Manage supplier performance associated with savings, quality and delivery business and functional targets
• Ability to deputise for the Team Lead / Procurement Manager

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Level 3-4 qualification (for example CIPS or ISM) or have equivalent experience
• Relevant experience within technical purchasing/procurement and/or similar environment
• Stakeholder Management skills, internal and external

As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business. Our global reach brings our customers a depth and breadth of expertise that meet critical needs in the air, on land, and at sea. Our mission strives for us to be our customer’s trusted and affordable weapons provider, delivering enhanced effects on target and complete mission solutions.

You’ll be joining a team of 12 like minded professionals at varied levels within the procurement function. This role also comes with opportunity to travel within America, Europe, Asia and Nationally within the United Kingdom.
