Job Description

Job title: Principal Engineer – BoM Integration

Location: Glasgow, Bristol or Portsmouth; We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £52,300 depending on qualifications and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and progress the CSC (Canadian Surface Combatant) Supply Chain & Planning Bills of Material (BoM) in line with Supply Chain strategy and plan
  • Co-ordinate cross-functional BoM Reviews to develop and confirm the Engineering BoM by contract
  • Carry out complex BoM analyses and investigations, present findings and suggest recommendations if needed
  • Resolve and work to a resolution complex Bill of Material issues raised by stakeholders
  • Develop new or updated processes when required
  • Engage with IM&T function to ensure toolset functionality is correct and enhancements are implemented effectively
  • Manage and work to resolution data quality issues raised within the team

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree qualified or national level qualification in relevant subject, e.g. supply chain, materials management or engineering/technical, or relevant industry experience in lieu
  • Meet the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Body
  • Familiar with Product Data Management tools and approaches
  • Demonstrates expertise in the use of PTC Windchill, Aveva ERM or equivalent tools and MS Office packages

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a supply chain environment
  • Experience with CAD tools (Foran)

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The BoM Integration team:

The team manages the supply chain BoM, producing BoM’s to go to contract. Working with the engineering teams on systems and products, the team is currently working on over 300 contracts which are being managed on the programme. The successful candidate shall demonstrate the ability to support the technical delivery of the CSC BoM Integration capability.
