Job title: Physical Security Manager

Salary: Up to £61,500 – £69,900 depending on qualifications and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as the subject matter expert and senior security advisor for complex and dynamic physical security requirements across our 5 lines of business namely Submarines, Naval ships, Maritime Services, Munitions and with colleagues in our Australia business
  • Work closely with security colleagues across the business and external organisations such as National Technical Authorities, Government Organisations and other Defence Companies to identify and implement high quality physical security across our estate
  • Coordinate and manage wide reaching strategic security improvement programmes to meet exacting regulatory requirements set by our customers and to mitigate risks to our business
  • Research, identify, validate and recommend new physical security technologies and methodologies
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure delivery of coordinated security services for the business, this may include Guard Force, Surveillance, Intruder Detection Systems, Search and Screening, Access Control and other requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • You must be able to demonstrate a breadth of experience working in physical security
  • Understanding our compliance requirements and you should be familiar with government standards and methodologies
  • An understanding of security risk management and how physical security technologies can mitigate vulnerabilities

Desirable:

  • Experience in; infrastructure management, technical physical security and design, technical/operational requirements, security obsolescence management, contracts/guarding requirements, audit/inspection/ evaluation report creation/writing with a specialisation in at least one area
  • Experience in defence and security, government, and/or major organisations with complex security contractual requirements and/or procedures

Maritime and Land Sector Security Team:

Employing close to 30,000 highly skilled colleagues across its Submarines, Naval Ships, Maritime Services, Munitions and Australia businesses, the Maritime and Land Sector is growing; and in order to best position itself to meet future challenges, its Physical Security Function is now looking for a new member to join the team.

This role is responsible for ensuring the achievement and maintenance of the physical security requirements for the Maritime and Land Sector and is fundamental to ensuring the business is able to effectively protect its people, its property, its information and material. This role will manage and/or enact standardised policies, processes and procedures as well as being the focal point for delivering the approach to physical security design and management ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement are embedded throughout.
