Job Description

National Security Career Opportunities (eDV Cleared)

Location: Gloucester or Manchester | This role normally requires four days per week on site, with five days per week on site likely depending on the project
Grade: GG08–GG12

Quick Overview

Bring your experience to work with a clear national purpose.

Digital Intelligence is looking to hear from engineers, consultants, delivery professionals and operational specialists who hold active eDV clearance and want to contribute to the UK’s National Security mission.

Our work brings together technology, professional expertise and a deep understanding of complex mission environments. Depending on your skills and interests, you could help develop secure software and platforms, address cyber threats, turn data into mission insight, advise customers on difficult technical and operational decisions, or enable multidisciplinary teams to deliver effectively.

These are opportunities to solve demanding problems whose outcomes matter. You will work alongside people from different professions, continue developing your expertise and build a career connected to a shared purpose.

National Security in Digital Intelligence

National Security is a major part of Digital Intelligence. For more than 50 years, our people have worked with UK National Security customers, providing the advice, technology and delivery expertise that support their vital missions.

That long-term experience matters, but so does our ability to keep evolving. Changes in technology, data and the threat environment create new questions for our customers. Our role is to help answer them responsibly, combining innovation with the trust, judgement and delivery discipline required in sensitive environments.

Whether your background is in engineering, cyber, data, consulting, delivery, user experience or operational support, you can contribute to work that helps protect the safety, security and prosperity of the UK.

Your SubAccount

This campaign covers opportunities across all four National Security SubAccounts. The most appropriate area will depend on your experience, professional interests and the needs of available roles.

Core Machine

Core Machine brings together the engineering foundations that enable secure and dependable mission outcomes. Opportunities may include software engineering, infrastructure and platform engineering, data engineering, architecture, user-centred design, technical delivery, and support and managed services.

You could contribute to building, integrating, improving or sustaining systems that need to perform reliably in complex and highly secure environments.

Cyber Engineering

Cyber Engineering focuses on understanding and addressing sophisticated cyber challenges. It brings together engineering, operational cyber, cyber security and technical consulting expertise to help customers understand risk, strengthen capability and respond to an evolving threat landscape.

You could work with multidisciplinary teams to explore difficult problems and develop proportionate, technically credible solutions.

Emergent Mission & Tech

Emergent Mission & Tech explores how developing technologies and new approaches can support National Security outcomes. Its work requires curiosity, sound technical judgement and the ability to turn emerging possibilities into useful, secure and responsible capability.

Opportunities may suit people who enjoy working with ambiguity, learning quickly and connecting innovation to genuine mission needs.

Mission Operations

Mission Operations brings together the people, services and delivery expertise needed to support important operational outcomes. Its teams work across professional boundaries, connecting customer needs, technical capability and effective execution.

You could contribute through mission analysis, consulting, project and programme delivery, service management, operational support or related disciplines.

What You Will Be Doing

As this advertisement covers a range of professions, grades, SubAccounts, and projects, the exact scope of the role may vary. Your recruiter will provide further information on the specific position and its responsibilities.

You will have scope to deepen your specialist knowledge, broaden your experience or move towards technical, consulting, delivery or people leadership pathways. Career conversations can also help you explore new projects and challenges as your interests and capabilities develop.

As this is a general careers campaign, the precise criteria will depend on the vacancy. We are interested in hearing from people with active eDV clearance and relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Operational Cyber.
  • Software Engineering.
  • Infrastructure or Platform Engineering.
