Job Description:

Join a growing Manufacturing Engineering team in Towcester, where you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting efficient, high-quality production. Working across a dynamic shop floor environment, you’ll be involved in a wide range of activities including goods-in inspection, in-process and final testing (such as laser scanning and electromagnetic testing), and ensuring production documentation is accurate and up to date. Collaborating closely with production and specialist engineering teams, you’ll help troubleshoot issues, contribute to process improvements, and provide input into tooling and design reviews. This is a varied and practical role offering the opportunity to apply engineering principles in real-world scenarios while supporting compliance, quality standards, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Core duties:

  • Ensure product quality at every stage by managing goods-inwards inspections, in-process checks, final release testing, and keeping all documentation accurate and up to date
  • Maintain essential manufacturing records including risk assessments, Dangerous Goods Notes, and chemical inventories to support safe and compliant operations
  • Drive technical problem-solving by leading Material Review Boards, reviewing tooling, and providing expert input during design evaluations
  • Support business growth and compliance by assisting with bids for standard products and managing calibration and asset processes to meet regulatory standards

Essential Skills:

  • Proven Manufacturing Engineering experience, with hands-on involvement in continuous improvement initiatives, production line troubleshooting, and in-build support
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a fast learner, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, and compliance with ISO standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, able to quickly identify issues and implement corrective actions to keep operations running smoothly

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

Join our Manufacturing Engineering team at Towcester and play a key role in shaping efficient, high-quality production processes. Our team works across two shifts, supporting the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes, maintaining production documentation, and performing in-process and factory acceptance inspections. You’ll help troubleshoot shop floor challenges, contribute to tooling reviews, provide design input, and drive process improvements. Working closely with senior engineers and production teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience applying engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The team is growing, currently five members across two shifts, with two engineers per shift and a new role opening as part of our recruitment drive. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career while making a real impact on our production operations.
