Job Description
Job title: Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Design Engineer
Location: Warton – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: £41,361 – £45,576
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the FCAS AP Program Implement planning and delivery with respect to the Alternative System Review (ASR), System of Systems, Design for Support, Support Solution Design, Technical Route Map and International collaboration
- Working with International Partners (Japan and Italy) to develop the concept and assessment phases of the programme and capture the understanding of the partner regulations with regard to Continuing Airworthiness
- Supporting FCAS AP bid activity, in conjunction with the Partners (Leonardo, MBDA, Rolls Royce and the MOD). This also includes technology & capability demonstrations to the Customer
- Able to elicit requirements, analyse complex problems and work autonomously and in a structured manner
- Support the development of future Maintenance capability, principally in support of FCAS AP and assist in providing regular situation reports to the Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Function
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Knowledge and understanding of M&CA regulations, policies, processes, procedures and systems
- M&CA experience demonstrated in a professional capacity
- Military, aviation and/or aircraft maintenance background
Desirable:
- Knowledge acquired through job related training and on the job experience with theoretical and practical skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle e.g. Requirements Engineering, Solution Design, Integration, Verification & Validation, Test & Qualification

The Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme (FCAS AP) is a transformational international research, development and acquisition programme that aims to provides world-class military capability in the form of a 6th generation combat aircraft. This entails delivering an Information Advantage to partners via competitive system solutions that could be exported worldwide.
As a part of this team you will be responsible for identifying any new FCAS Future Capabilities for people, infrastructure, toolsets and technology are captured by the Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness Function and support in driving functional change initiatives to meet FCAS ambitions.
