Job Description:

As an IT Project Manager, you will play an integral part in shaping, mobilising, planning, and leading projects in accordance with BAE Systems’ delivery assurance processes and will work collaboratively across Business Units and functions, as well as effectively managing external third‑party suppliers. The role ensures all delivery activities comply with Life Cycle Management (LCM) governance, while proactively managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities.

Core duties:

  • Managing a number of medium-large projects to time, cost and quality within the Enterprise IT department via a matrix organisation
  • Working with suppliers to define and manage project plans which will achieve the project goals and consequent business outcomes via the tracking of key milestones / activities
  • Ensuring project delivery adheres to LCM (Life Cycle Management) governance and assurance criteria
  • Managing and communicating directly with senior stakeholders across BAE
  • Identification and management of risks and opportunities

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience of successfully delivering projects of size (£250k plus) and moderate complexity, delivering business outcomes
  • Proficient understanding of project lifecycle management / methodology or equivalent (Waterfall & Agile delivery methodologies)
  • Experience of working within an environment with mature and established governance practices and processes
  • Formal Project Management training, preferably PRINCE2 Practitioner or APM (PMDY)
  • Experience in delivering one of the following infrastructure technologies; hosting, networks, workplace, software application / upgrades

The Product and Integrations (P&I) Team:

In P&I, we are responsible for managing projects ranging from product applications including HR/IT, Business and Finance, IT Infrastructure delivery to property renovations, supporting customer key contracts and workplace services. This will include business change delivery to support transition and transformation priorities aligned to business strategy and roadmaps.
