Job Title: Integration Engineer

Location: Dorset, Christchurch – Full time onsite

Salary: Up to £49,100 (dependent on skills and experience)

Role description:

The role will involve the production of technical artefacts and the implementation of virtual and physical core components, which form the backbone of platforms. You will build and configure Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 systems, integrate COTS and bespoke software, and adhere to software engineering best practices. The role also includes fault finding in live environments, producing clear documentation, collaborating with team members through knowledge sharing and peer reviews, reporting progress to stakeholders, and occasional travel to customer sites to support deployments, investigations, and testing

Core Duties:

  • Building and configuring Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 operating systems
  • Integration and configuration of COTS and bespoke software
  • Adherence to software engineering practices
  • Fault finding and resolution of issues in a production environment to a successful conclusion
  • Producing clear and concise technical documentation
  • Collaboration with other members of the team: sharing knowledge and peer reviewing others work
  • Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to support deployment, investigations and testing

Essential Skills:

  • You’ll be able to use PowerShell and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to install and configure COTS and bespoke software on Windows 10 and Server 2019
  • You’ll have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and MDT alternate deployment approaches for deploying Windows 11 and Server 2022 (desirable)
  • You’ll have knowledge and experience of Group Policy and Active Directory
  • You’ll be able to produce clear technical documentation

The Foundation Team:

BAE Systems are currently recruiting for an Integration Engineer, based at our Christchurch site, to support various MoD projects. This long-term appointment is a complement to the existing 45 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system for the MoD. This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support – it is run solely from our Christchurch site for delivery to our customer at various MoD locations
