Job Description

Job Title: Administrator (Data/Finance)

Location: Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £36,000 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • This role is an integral part of the Group Insurable Risk (GIR) business support team, supporting the management and maintenance of the departments risk system used to capture and report on claims, insurance policies, premiums, and exposure information about the company for placing insurance
  • Responsible for department finances including the processing of purchase orders, invoices and internal recharges alongside general ledger maintenance. GIR are responsible for over £40m in insurance premiums and £3.5m in department and third party service provider fees to the global business
  • Supporting the insurance placement team with policy renewals, including data collection, collation, management and presentation of data to brokers/insurers. This includes comparing, contrasting and combining different sets of data to identify variances
  • Playing a key role in training users (globally) of the risk system and assists in workshops/meetings with stakeholders at all levels
  • Supporting the development and build of reports from the risk system to meet user requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Ability to manipulate and analyse data
  • Proven skills to interpret data analysis to produce management information to meet stakeholder requirements
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and able to use functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s
  • Experience of reconciling financial accounts and processing purchases orders, invoices etc.
  • GCSE Maths and English (minimum C or 5)

Desirable:

  • Experience building reports/dashboards
  • Good grounding in general insurance principles
  • Experience of working with databases

The Group Insurable Risk team:

Group Insurable Risk (GIR) has a global accountability for insurance purchase for BAE Systems. GIR is resourced to be the global subject matter expert supplemented by specialist skills of external insurance brokers and consultants. Sitting within an integral part of the business support team, you will be supporting the management and maintenance of the risk system. The risk system has over 50 users in the business, external service providers and GIR team.

This role will provide you with the chance to learn a new skill set (insurance, risk), whilst having a global view of BAE Systems and building an extensive network in order to support the wider business.
