The Opportunity:

The key cornerstone of FCAS is the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), which sees the UK working with our international partners Italy and Japan, to deliver a future combat air platform. FCAS and GCAP presents a unique opportunity to influence the design of the system to consider the integration and employment of effects rather than just integrate effectors to an existing platform.

The FCAS portfolio consists of a number of different projects and contracts looking at different areas within Combat Air. MBDA UK is involved in a number of these projects including the TEMPEST project, where some novel technologies are being explored, the main UK FCAS Acquisition Programme, as well as the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the FCAS programme as our FCAS Enablers Delivery Lead. You would lead the delivery of key enabling initiatives, within FCAS, across Engineering Tooling, Secure Infrastructure and Operational Transformation and Improvement.

You will be leading a small team of up to six direct reports so previous people management experience is essential. The team are keen to develop and grow and part of your role will be to support them in their growth alongside day to day management.

Some of the key Enabling activities could include;

  • Delivery of increased collaboration spaces at Filton, Stevenage and Bolton in support of FCAs meeting needs, linking directly to the secure comms and infrastructure as well as relevant facilities in place
  • Lead on the interlinked activities relating to floorplate and site regenerations, ensuring FCAS get the outcome they require

As part of the role there will also be times where you would be expected to deputise for Head of Programme Enablers, where required, across the Enablers space including representing the programme with senior stakeholders at key working groups. The Programme Enablers spans across future manufacturing, Secure Infrastructure, Digital Infrastructure, Software Enterprise, Enterprise Data Management.

This role would be the perfect fit for an experienced Transition or Change Manager, someone who is used to working at pace and often in ambiguous situations.

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and quickly build relationships both internally and externally. A perfect role for someone who is keen to apply their skills and broaden their experiences in an exciting role within MBDA.

This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic team and really make this role your own.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Technical understanding of deploying digital infrastructure
  • Previous experience of complex data management systems
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
