Location: Warton, 3 days per week on site.

Job Description:

You’ll be the lead for the Türkiye programme within the Air business, initially based in the UK with the potential to relocate to Türkiye as the role and project becomes more established, working closely with the BAE Systems joint venture in-country.

You’ll be responsible for understanding and delivering against key programme objectives, while navigating complex export licensing requirements across the UK, Europe, Türkiye, and the wider global supply chain.

Core duties:

  • You’ll provide day-to-day subject matter expert (SME) guidance on export control matters, advising on regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures to support compliant business operations.
  • You’ll identify and resolve export control and licensing challenges, establishing the facts and implementing practical, compliant solutions that enable timely delivery while safeguarding future business. This will include developing, managing, and maintaining robust Export Control and Licensing Plans.
  • You’ll build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading and supporting engagement activity. You’ll also play a key role in preparing for and supporting corporate and external audits, ensuring timely and effective closure of any actions.
  • You’ll develop and implement export control processes and procedures that ensure full regulatory compliance, alongside delivering timely, accurate reporting to meet internal and external requirements.

Essential Skills:

  • UK and international export control compliance and regulatory experience
  • Experience of analysing, presenting, translating & interpreting complex regulations
  • Current knowledge on international export control laws and regulations across any industry
  • Previous experience with peer support or in a mentoring environment
  • Significant experience working across international and multicultural environments, with the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively across diverse cultures and global teams

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
