Job Title: Engineering Manager – Product Safety

What you’ll be doing:
· In this role you will manage a team of safety engineers and will be responsible for the delivery of safety case activities across all of the submarine projects within BAE Systems submarines, including Dreadnought class, SSN AUKUS, and Astute
· The team conducts activities to ensure our submarines are resilient to major internal hazards such as fires, explosions, floods and steam releases
· You will work alongside the team engaging with multiple engineering teams across the programmes to ensure risks are managed and reduced through good design
· You will ensure the team has the right size, skills and experience to deliver against each of the programme demands and prioritise the team’s support to ensure major programme milestones are supported
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Educated to a degree level in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience working in high hazard industries, such as Defence, Oil & Gas, Rail, etc
- Safety case development/Engineering skills
Desirable:
- Previous role in Engineering Management
- Capability Management
- Programme/Engineering Delivery
