Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity as the Engineering Learning Designer, responsible for the visual design and development of high-quality digital learning assets that enhance learner engagement, usability, and comprehension.
Operating as a specialist within the Engineering & Manufacturing People Development team, this role applies advanced visual communication principles to translate complex technical and instructional content into clear, intuitive, and visually compelling learning experiences.
Core Duties:
- Visual design and development of digital learning assets, including Storyline modules, graphics, layouts, and multimedia elements
- Translate complex technical and instructional content into clear, engaging visual formats that support learning outcomes
- Apply advanced Storyline development techniques to enhance interactivity, usability, and visual polish
- Design and produce high-quality visual assets using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Develop and edit video-based learning content using Adobe Premiere (intermediate level)
- Ensure alignment with corporate branding, visual standards, and accessibility principles across all outputs
- Collaborate with SMEs to integrate visual design effectively into learning solutions
- Develop and maintain reusable templates, design systems, and asset libraries to support efficient development
Essential Skills:
- Experience working with Articulate Storyline and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
- UI/UX design principles and learner-centred design approaches
- Motion graphics and animation (e.g. After Effects or similar)
- HTML/CSS and basic front-end development for custom Storyline enhancements
- Experience with SCORM/xAPI and LMS environments
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design practices
- Experience working in complex, technical, or defence-related environments
