About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Systems Lead to join our SSN AUKUS program.
Based out of our Adelaide CBD and Port Adelaide offices, you will report to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering and be responsible for leading a small team of Systems Engineers in providing technical solutions in the development of the digital tools and systems that will be used to manufacture the SSN AUKUS, keeping in mind quality, cost and schedule.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development of the Digital Systems and Tools that will be used to manufacture the SSN AUKUS
- Work as an interface across all AUKUS Integrated Project Teams such as Engineering, Build, Enablement, Infrastructure, Nuclear, etc. and with the UK Submarine designer to ensure broad engagement and fit for purpose digital solutions are delivered on behalf of BAE Systems and our build partner ASC for our customer the ASA
- Be responsible for ensuring the Systems Engineering outputs are developed in accordance with the approved company standard procedures and processes and meet the agreed operational needs of the customer
- Be the primary conduit between Manufacturing Engineering and Technology teams in the development, deployment and execution of the digital toolset within the Manufacturing System of Works
- Lead and support the Systems Engineering team to identify and document key inputs and outputs along the digital thread using the model based system engineering methodology and to develop and deploy solutions across Production Demonstration, Prototyping and Production
About YOU
- Engineering degree qualification, or chartered professional engineer or equivalent
- Demonstrated background leading complex projects involving digital tools and platforms within Manufacturing, Construction industry or heavy engineering industry.
- Be an expert in Systems Engineering practises and methods, and demonstrated Systems Engineering design and development
- Experience with High-complexity High-Change volume programmes with multiple suppliers, internal & external stakeholders
- High levels of resilience and adaptability
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise issues/ tasks as they arise.
- Leads by example in fostering a safe, inclusive and sustainable culture within the team.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain,
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
