About the OPPORTUNITY

We currently have a unique opportunity to join an energetic and collaborative team as a Senior Estimating and Pricing Officer. Working in our Maritime Combat Systems Integration Project Team (CSI-IPT), this role supports the Estimating & Pricing Manager CSI-IPT in the management of all Estimating and Pricing activities to ensure integrity and transparency of financial and pricing data and to facilitate planning and decision-making for the CSI-IPT and Industry Participants. These activities will include pricing, estimating, cost modelling, planning, formulation, review and analysis of all cost estimates, including supporting major project Estimate At Complete (EAC) reviews and business analysis.

The Senior Estimating & Pricing Officer role will also support mobilisation activities including processes, tools, governance and reporting set up.

This opportunity is available at our Mawson Lakes Office in Adelaide and open to hybrid work, flexibility and 9-day fortnight.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the generation of Tasking Statement and Work Package Proposals (bids) as directed by the Estimating & Pricing Manager CSI-IPT
  • Work collaboratively with the Bid/Project Team to ensure delivery of accurate value for money proposals to the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA)
  • Ensure proposals adhere to CSI-IPT/IP Estimating and Pricing Processes and Procedures
  • Ensure pricing tool (ProPricer/Excel) preparation & maintenance throughout each bid
  • Provide advice and management of BoEs with SME’s through each stage of the Bid Life Cycle
  • Assist the bid team with the preparation of Phase Review data, Green Team Review (GTR) data packs, Pricing Review data packs and Customer Pricing tables
  • Identify and contribute to process and tool improvement and set-up
  • Convene and conduct appropriate Estimating and Pricing reviews
  • Review and provide feedback to Basis of Estimate authors on all Tasking Statements and Work Package proposals.
  • Prepare the pricing proposal response to commercial terms and conditions and other commercial aspects of the bid, for example: Foreign exchange, Warranties, Price Variation, Escalation, Priced Options, Payment terms, Milestone payment schedule and expenditure profiles
  • Post award, support the projects start up activities by working with finance staff to establish budgets based on the negotiated pricing structure
  • Convene and conduct major project Estimate At Complete (EAC) reviews as required
  • Responsible for the Monte Carlo modelling process and outcomes
  • Provide support to the business in the context of price variation and foreign exchange opportunities

About YOU

You’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in an Estimating and Pricing related role
  • Previous experience in a large project environment is desirable
  • Exposure to bids across platforms and or services along with modelling and analysis
  • Exposure to government contracting requirements (desirable)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, with a strong capacity to influence internal and external stakeholders to drive business outcomes while maintaining key relationships
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
  • Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve issues of a complex nature
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word and PowerPoint plus advanced Excel modelling skills is essential and experience using ProPricer is desirable
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
