Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist

Location: Rochester, Kent – Onsite

Salary: £32,500 – £37,500 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Playing a leading role in ‘designing the future’ of Logistics e.g. Oracle upgrade and site transformation
  • Working with the Logistics and wider Operations team to deliver continuous improvement activities within (but not limited to) the OKR programme and the ‘making life easier’ process
  • Processing mapping requirements with both current and future requirements
  • Utilising your continuous improvement background to identify efficiency opportunities within current processes
  • Demonstrating a data focused approach to ensure future requirements are met (e.g. service level improvements or future factory requirements)
  • Facilitating internal logistics workshops to generate the relevant information required by wider transformation team(s)
  • Being informed of wider opportunities that may be of interest/benefit to Logistics e.g. technological advancements, such as robotic movements or digital work queues
  • Displaying a vision for improvement opportunities and appropriately suggest, engage, plan and deliver such opportunities. E.g. Oracle upgrades, Site Transformation

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

  • Proven transformation/improvement experience, used to fast pace working environment
  • Experience of process mapping requirements
  • Presenting data/ running workshops

Desirable:

  • Lean Six sigma background (green belt level)
  • Oracle ERP advantageous
  • Manufacturing background
  • Exposure to a Logistics environment

The Logistics team:

As Continuous Improvement Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of transformation activities for current site activities and those linked to the brand-new factory being built at Rochester. The Rochester site is undergoing a £220 million upgrade, the new facility will combine manufacturing, engineering and office space. This role will play a critical part on how the logistics team evolve to suit new demands for the present and future.

The Logistics team is made up of 50 people, across Goods Inwards, Stores, Packing, Import/Export and Dispatch. The team are responsible for ensuring efficient movement and management of parts and products within clear guidelines and processes.
