Job Title: Construction Manager

Location: Glascoed, South Wales

Salary: £55,869

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as a representative for the client in all construction activities on site
  • Managing projects from design through to commissioning and handover, ensuring the design integration of all types of construction works
  • Directing and supervising direct and supply chain workforces and managing project resource; coordinating with other departments, senior management, and contractors
  • Implementing and monitoring SHE policies and procedures. Management of CDM and Temporary Works and ensuring the Client is satisfying their obligations as Client, PD, PC and Designer
  • Providing construction quality and technical oversight, managing change, mitigating risk, managing costs and managing the schedule
  • Creating, reviewing and approving technical documentation, in accordance with industry and client-specific SHE and QA/QC standards and procedures
  • Preparation and submission of applications to relevant Authorities such as Planning and Building Regs

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • HNC/HND in Civil Construction Management
  • Experience in reviewing civil engineering drawings and managing construction contracts
  • Excellent understanding of the 2015 UK CDM Regulations and relevant standards
  • Practiced experience in construction projects delivery within the industrial sector (client or contractor biased)

Desirable:

  • Degree level education or equivalent in Construction
  • Member, or working towards membership in related Professional Institution
  • Experience in industrial or heavy civil engineering projects
  • Working in a defence related industry background

The Construction team:

You will be joining the site construction team who are embarking on an ambitious industrial transformation project of the site. You will be working on ensuring the successful delivery of large and complex construction projects.

You will have the opportunity to progress your career through working on a diverse range of significant and complex development infrastructure projects (across all stages of development).

This is an exciting opportunity due to the continued expansion across our Land UK sites with BAE Systems securing new orders for the supply of munitions to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
