Job Title: Configuration Technician Trainee

Location: Rochester, Kent. Onsite

Salary: Circa £27,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

Comply with Document and Configuration Management procedures while supporting Configuration Engineers by managing administrative changes and maintaining accurate records. Ensure the correct review and approval processes are applied to documentation and configuration updates. Manage configuration status accounting records, including checking, verifying, and entering data into relevant systems to maintain accuracy and traceability. Coordinate with colleagues to ensure project teams understand Data, Document, and Configuration Management requirements, providing guidance on best practices and compliance with procedures. Facilitate Change Management review meetings with Projects and Engineering teams, ensuring proposed changes are properly documented, reviewed, and implemented in line with organisational standards and project objectives.

Core duties:

• GCSE’s Maths and English – 5 at C grade and above (Or equivalent)
• Administrative experience
• Good oral and written communication skills
• High attention to detail, meticulous and organised
• Competent IT skills across the MS Office suite
• Previous administrative experience within an engineering environment – Desirable as full training will be provided

The Configuration Technician Team:

The Configuration Management Group at BAE Systems, Electronic Systems, provide support for Engineering and Operations in ensuring that documentation and products are correctly documented and configured, with changes managed in accordance with strict aerospace requirements.
