Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer
Location: Leeds, London or Gloucester , Some additional travel will be required in line with business needs

What you’ll be doing
The AI Platform Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and improving DI AWS environments and the associated AI tools.
- Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms and landing zones.
- Automate deployment pipelines and operational processes using CI/CD tools and scripting languages.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, security, and cost optimisation.
- Manage networking, IAM policies, security groups, VPCs, and cloud governance controls.
- Support containerised and serverless workloads using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and AWS Lambda.
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to deliver cloud-native solutions.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, best practices, and organisational policies.
- Evaluate new AWS services and recommend platform improvements and innovations.
Your skills and experiences
- Strong experience of working within an IT Service/Support function.
- Knowledge of IT technologies, including PowerShell scripting, VBA scripting, TCP/IP networking
- Experience of working with 3rd Party IT service suppliers and partners.
- Experience of working within large, matrixed organisations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Draws upon past or previous experience and makes judgements to resolve problems for scenarios that may not be covered by standard procedures.
- Applies subject matter knowledge to local problems or issues.
- History of making evaluative judgments of both factual and qualitative information drawn from a variety of sources.
