Role Description:

This role is critical to ensuring the Defence Business Development (BD) team operates as a cohesive, well-coordinated unit, with the right structures, tools, and governance in place to deliver against its objectives.

It offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and lean into live and emerging campaigns, working alongside Senior Capture Managers and Senior Campaign Leads to shape opportunities, engage stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery of strategic growth. With a footprint across key capability areas including Cyber EM, Maritime Subsea, C4I, IAMD, Digital Targeting Web, Secure Cloud, FCAS/GCAP, Counter-UXV, and Defence Support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety, and is motivated by enabling success across multiple lines of effort.

Core Duties:

  • Coordinate internal BD activities, planning cycles, and governance processes across the Defence portfolio
  • Act as a key point of contact for BD operations, ensuring alignment across functions and timely delivery of key outputs
  • Maintain and improve BD artefacts including campaign plans, stakeholder maps, investment cases, and performance dashboards
  • Contribute to campaign execution across a range of priority areas, supporting Senior Capture Managers and Senior Campaign Leads in shaping opportunities and engaging stakeholders
  • Provide essential project and operational support, helping to synchronise internal activities, manage planning cycles, and maintain campaign readiness across a diverse and fast-moving portfolio

Essential Skills:

  • You will have experience in business development, programme coordination, or campaign support within Defence, ideally across multiple capability areas
  • You will have a strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • You will have familiarity with MOD structures, procurement pathways, and capability development processes, including those relevant to Army HQ, Navy Command, Strategic Command, Defence Digital, and the National Armaments Directorate
  • You will understand key defence capability areas including Cyber EM, C4I, maritime systems, and integrated defence solutions
  • You will have a proactive mindset with a focus on delivery, continuous improvement, and enabling campaign success
