Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.

Summary:

The candidate owns the value realization initiatives and the network strategy & expansion that improve profitability and operational efficiency. He/She will translate business priorities into actionable initiatives leveraging a small high performing team and external digital/AI solution partners.

The new position will be essential for driving key initiatives related to delivery of $300m NSS and $36m EBIT impact in 2026.

The leader will leverage a blend of top-tier consulting skills across problem solving, stakeholder management and executive communication to deliver high impact initiatives
This role combines elements of strategic planning, business analytics, program management, and executive communication, providing exposure to high-impact initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Value Realization & Profitability Improvement

  • Identify, size, prioritize and align profitability improvement opportunities across operations, pricing, and network design to meet targeted EBIT impact in 2026
  • Review business cases and implementation plan, evaluate feasibility and drive stakeholder buyin for key initatives to address opportunities
  • Design structure, allocate team bandwidth and roll out initatives and support program management of delivery
  • Partner with key stakeholders to review progress of iniatives and facilitate de-bottlenecking

2. Network Strategy & Expansion

  • Own the LTL network strategy and periodically review to ensure it is aligned with business growth objectives
  • Lead assessments for network expansion: 2 Hubs and 4 mini stations planned for 2026, as well as support the 2027-2030 roadmap for product and network expansion
  • Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, Finance, etc.) to ensure alignment and feasibility of expansion initiatives

3. Executive Support & Communication

  • Support leadership in conducting comprehensive business performance assessments and external market scans
  • Leverage business analysts team to generate insights for strategic decision-making
  • Support in preparing executive-ready presentations, strategy documents, and memos for leadership discussions and reviews

4. AI and Innovation

  • Scan and identify emerging Digital / AI innovations that can unlock value for the business
  • Collaborate with operations, finance and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, build business case and pilot / roll out innovations
  • Identify & onboard external vendor partner and program manage pilots / roll outs and evaluate success

5. Business analytics

  • Translating business asks and pain points into well-defined problem statements for analytics team
  • Manage team bandwidth and solution these asks to the quality & timelines required

Key Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree and MBA in related field preferred

· The candidate should ideally have a consulting background with strong value realization, supply chain and strategy background (this is to facilitate the requirements below):

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong relationship management across operations, sales, finance, and leadership teams to align on strategic priorities; Experience in having worked with senior leadership.
  • Execution Excellence: Proven ability to manage complex initiatives, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of key milestones; experience in having driven value realization/ profitability improvement projects
  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of profitability levers, logistics operations, and financial implications of network decisions.

· 10-15 years of experience in consulting or related fields

· Travel (international) is expected for 5% of time.
