Job Description

APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be apart of our journey.

As a Front-End Project Planner, you will play a key role in supporting APM Terminals' growth strategy by developing and assuring integrated project schedules for major investment opportunities, including new terminal developments, mergers and acquisitions, and facility expansions. Working closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders, you will help establish robust project plans that enable informed investment decisions and support successful project execution.

What We Can Offer

At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Work on complex international growth projects that shape the future of global port infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across technical, operational, and business functions.
  • Develop your expertise in project planning, scheduling, and project controls within a global organisation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through standardised project management practices and Lean principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules for bids and early-stage project execution in accordance with APM Terminals standards.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs from internal teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to produce comprehensive project plans.
  • Analyse project schedules to identify critical paths, risks, delays, dependencies, and opportunities, recommending mitigation and optimisation strategies.
  • Facilitate project scheduling workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
  • Support project governance by maintaining schedule assumptions, documenting changes, and performing time impact assessments.
  • Prepare project reporting materials, monitor procurement schedules, and support effective schedule handover to execution teams.
  • Promote best practices in planning, scheduling, reporting, and project controls while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently puts customers first, leads by example with respect for people, delivers results with integrity, and drives continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • Degree in a technical, engineering, construction, or project management-related discipline; project management certification is desirable.
  • 7–10 years of project planning experience, including ownership of project schedule development within complex capital projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required), with good working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Experience with tender planning, investment planning, contractor schedule management, or FIDIC-based projects is advantageous.
