Job Description
Location: Flexible within region / Hybrid
Contract: Permanent Full-Time (with flexibility for Part-Time)
Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 per annum dependent on experience
At Anglian Water, we’re driven by a simple purpose - to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve. To help us deliver against an ambitious programme of work, we’re looking for an experienced Planner to join a fast-paced, collaborative delivery environment.
This is a busy, high-interaction role, ideal for someone who thrives on organisation, enjoys working with multiple stakeholders, and can come in and make an impact from day one.
What you’ll be doing
As a Planner who is an expert in Microsoft Project, you’ll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of programmes and projects by providing robust, realistic plans that reflect operational reality.
You’ll be:
· Developing, maintaining, and updating detailed plans and schedules
· Working closely with delivery managers, engineers, analysts, and contractors to ensure plans are accurate and achievable
· Managing interfaces between teams, identifying dependencies, and resolving clashes
· Monitoring progress, highlighting risks and issues early, and supporting effective decision-making
· Providing clear, concise updates and reports to a range of stakeholders
· Supporting scenario planning and re-prioritisation in a dynamic delivery environment
This is very much a hands-on planning role, where priorities can shift and strong organisation and communication skills are essential.
Who you’ll work with
You’ll interact daily with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including:
· Delivery and programme managers
· Engineers and technical specialists
· Operational teams
· Commercial and framework partners
Building strong working relationships and managing expectations will be central to your success.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is confident operating in a complex, fast-moving environment.
You’ll bring:
· Proven planning experience within a project, programme, engineering, or delivery environment
· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
· Experience using planning tools and systems (e.g. Microsoft Project or similar)
· The ability to juggle multiple priorities while keeping delivery on track
· Clear, professional communication skills
Just as importantly, you’ll be proactive, resilient, and comfortable working at pace.
As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:
· Personal private health care
· 25 days annual leave – rising with length of service
· Flexible working – Includes a mixture of home, site and Anglian Water Office
· Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%
· Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
· Bonus scheme
Inclusion is for Everyone
We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all suitably qualified applicants, regardless of gender identity, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
If you’re an organised, delivery-focused Planner who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and keeping complex programmes moving, we’d love to hear from you.
