Lead Maintenance Engineer (Gas)

Circa £60,000 depending on skills and experience + company vehicle

Standby Rota with occasional overnight stays

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week with flexibility for part time

Can be based anywhere in the Anglian Water Region

What will you be doing?

As the Lead Engineer for Gas, you will be delivering both Planned Preventative Maintenance and supporting the Reactive Maintenance for our Gas assets across the Anglian Water region. The role will involve responsibility to plan, organise and deliver the planned maintenance schedule across the region; often whilst managing contractors. As the Lead Engineer you will be expected to support the Engineers in their day-to-day work, planning and arranging workloads as required by the business need – this work involves projects across the region; including, but not limited to, optimisation, installation, and capital intervention.

Duties will include:

  • Organising and leading PPM work.

  • Providing both technical and specialist support to the team’s Engineers and local boiler operators.

  • Helping enhance the performance of the Gas assets.

  • Managing contractors.

  • Supporting the Gas Manager (including standing in for meetings and planning schedules).

  • Ensuring all relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Assisting with the reduction of operating costs.

  • Ensuring all PPM activities are completed and recorded.

What does it take to be a Lead Engineer (Gas)?

  • A minimum an NVQ Level 3 or HNC ideally in Electrical bias but can be mechanical (Essential)

  • Formal gas qualifications are required (GasSafe / I-Gas). (Essential)

  • CompEx qualified would be advantageous.

  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance.

  • Operational and maintenance experience in Gas assets.

  • Knowledge of Advanced Digestion would be advantageous.

  • Supervisory / management experience or recognised qualification.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Proven experience with fault finding and problem solving.

  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety practices.

  • Strong communication skills .

  • Competent user of IT.

  • Flexible approach to work- with the potential for out of hours management standby.

  • Full driving licence is essential for this role.
