What you’ll be doing

Join our Corporate Affairs and Communications team. We’re the storytellers, connectors and collaborators of Anglian Water — helping people understand what we do, why it matters and the impact we have across our region. As Insight Lead within our Corporate Affairs and Communications team, you’ll help the organisation make better, evidence-led decisions by translating research, audience understanding and data into clear, practical communications insight.

You’ll lead the planning and delivery of communications insight activity that supports Corporate Affairs priorities in AMP8 (our current five-year regulatory and business planning period), helping colleagues anticipate emerging risks and opportunities and make informed choices.

What you’ll be doing

We’re a team that values curiosity, fresh thinking and collaboration

You’ll turn insight into action — helping shape communications, engagement and reputation activity across the business through clear, evidence-led recommendations.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Spot emerging trends, risks and opportunities by analysing audience insight, media intelligence and wider social, political and sector developments.

  • Lead exciting research projects including brand perception studies, audience segmentation and message testing.

  • Translate complex data and insight into clear stories and practical recommendations that influence decision-making.

  • Help shape communications campaigns and engagement activity by bringing the voice of customers, stakeholders and audiences into planning.

  • Work closely with teams across Public Affairs, Brand, Internal Communications, Marketing, HR and Strategy to support joined-up communications planning.

  • Produce engaging insight updates and horizon scans that help colleagues stay ahead of the issues that matter most.

  • Build feedback loops that measure audience response and help continuously improve communications and engagement activity.

  • Provide key insight support through customer engagement for the Regulation team, providing insight inputs as part of the business’ price review and regulatory processes, including WRMP and DWMP, as well as other statutory insight requirements.

  • Bring fresh thinking and external perspectives into the business through networking, events, webinars and industry insight.

What does it take to be successful?

You’ll be an experienced communications and insight professional who is confident working across multiple stakeholders in a complex organisation.

You’ll also demonstrate:

• Significant experience working in a similar insight, communications or strategic role.
• Experience of research, insight and stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to translate complex priorities into clear insight briefs, outputs and practical recommendations.
• Confidence building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior colleagues.
• The ability to challenge constructively and manage expectations using evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding and experience of coordinated strategic communications.

And above all, we do the right thing. For our region. For our communities. For our business. For each other. Because we’re all united behind Anglian Water’s goals, values and purpose.
