About Legal Counsel Data Governance, Commercial Contracts & Risk (m/f/d)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic in-house legal team. This pivotal role will serve as a subject matter expert in Data Governance and Privacy, while also providing crucial legal support across all aspects of our industrial operations, including commercial contracting,and acting as a key liaison for corporate insurance and risk management.
The successful candidate will be a pragmatic, solutions-oriented professional who can balance regulatory compliance, commercial enablement and corporate risk mitigation within the industrial sector. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our company's data assets, commercial interests and operational resilience globally.


Duties:


  • I. Data Governance & Privacy
    - Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain the company's global Data Governance and Privacy compliance programs (e.g. GDPR and other relevant international data protection laws).Advisory: Provide timely and clear legal advice on data lifecycle management, including collection, use, retention, security and cross-border transfer of data.
    - Data Contracts: Draft and negotiate all data-related agreements, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and data sharing agreements, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
    - Audit & Reporting: Regularly audit data processing activities and produce reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as necessary.
    - Training: Implementation and holding of awareness session program on Group level

  • II. Commercial Contracts & General Advisory
    Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including procurement, vendor, sales, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), supply chain agreements, and technology licenses typical for an industrial enterprise.
    Legal Counseling: Act as a trusted business minded in-house counsel to internal stakeholders translating complex legal risks into clear, actionable and commercially pragmatic advice.

  • III. Insurance & Corporate Risk Liaison
    - Liaison: Act as the primary local point of contact for all insurance matters, interacting consistently with Group Central Insurance and Risk Managers.
    - Claims Support: Provide initial legal support and coordination to manage the process and documentation.
    - Risk Mitigation: Support the integration of contractual and operational risk mitigation strategies with corporate insurance policies.



What we look for

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent qualification) in Law.
  • Spanish or German legal qualification.
  • Data Governance: Deep expertise in global data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and experience establishing a data governance framework.
  • Commercial Contracts: Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial and technology contracts, ideally within the industrial sector.
  • Risk & Insurance: Familiarity with corporate insurance (e.g., coverage types, claims process) or a strong willingness and aptitude to build this expertise from scratch.


Skills:

  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, excellent legal judgment and a proactive, risk-based approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
