Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Lead Full Stack Engineer to champion the development of our scalable, cloud-native web applications. In this role, you will act as a technical cornerstone-driving the architecture, writing robust code, and steering an agile team of developers toward engineering excellence. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between sophisticated backend systems (Java) and highly responsive user experiences (React), fully utilizing the depth of AWS cloud infrastructure to deliver secure, resilient enterprise software.

Technical Stack

• Frontend: React v15.4.0 (Legacy lifecycle methods, PropTypes)
  
  
• Backend: Java 11, Dropwizard v1.3.28, Jetty v11.0.7
  
  
• API: RESTful Web Services
  
  
• Database: PostgreSQL (JDBC {JDBI + Hibernate})
  
  
• Cloud & DevOps: Linux fundamentals, AWS, Docker, CI/CD (Jenkins / GitHub Actions / AWS CodePipeline/ Gitlab CI/CD), Kubernetes (Preferred), Terraform (Good to have).
  

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead the technical strategy, design discussions, and system architecture. Provide hands-on guidance and regular code reviews to internal/ external teams of developers.
  
• Full Stack Development: Architect, build, and maintain highly scalable backend microservices using Java 11 and interactive frontend interfaces using React v15.4.0
  
• Cloud Infrastructure (AWS): Understand the basics to support the AWS team in upgrades and testing.
  
• API & Integration Design: Design clean, secure, and documented APIs and manage integration patterns with third-party tools or messaging systems.
  
• Data Management: Optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores for performance, ensuring strict data protection and schema modeling practices.
  
• DevOps Culture: Champion CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and application deployments, minimizing time-to-market while safeguarding production stability.
  
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and security stakeholders to translate high-level business goals into lean technical solutions.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Expert Java Knowledge: Proven experience with Java 11 , including a deep understanding of Garbage Collection, Streams, and Concurrency.
  
  
• Dropwizard Mastery: Strong experience with Dropwizard 1.3.x , including configuration, Managed Objects, and Health Checks.
  
  
• React Legacy Proficiency: Deep familiarity with React 15.4 , specifically Class Components, Lifecycle methods ( componentWillReceiveProps , etc.), and Flux or Redux architectures.
  
  
• Servlet Container Expertise: Experience configuring and troubleshooting Jetty 11 .
  
  
• Tools & Pipelines: Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and automated CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline)
  

• Problem Solving: A "detective" mindset-able to debug complex issues within legacy frameworks and identify performance bottlenecks.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JDBI or Hibernate within a Dropwizard environment.
  
  
• Knowledge of CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS) compatible with older Webpack builds.
  
  
• Experience in migrating legacy React applications to functional components and Hooks (v16.8+).
  
  
• Understanding Microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  

• Prior experience working within strict Agile/Scrum delivery models.
